Handing Out Tickets for Good Driving
More than 30 students participated in the prevention and awareness campaign with police officers at 15 different schools in Laval. The idea was to recognize and reward safe driving habits among parents, friends, teachers, neighbours, etc., and to encourage everyone to drive slower and be safe.
Police remind drivers to always respect the Highway Safety Code, speed limits, and signage, especially in areas reserved for pedestrians or school buses.
Slow Down in School Zones!
Police remind drivers to be extra vigilant and cautious in school zones.
Stop at crosswalks. Follow the rules and be patient when crossing guards help kids across the street.
Park only in appropriate parking spaces. Don’t park in the handicap spots.
When a school bus’s lights are flashing or the stop panel is extended, drivers on both sides of the road must stop their vehicles at least 5 metres away from the bus, and remain immobilized until the bus is on its way once again.
Don’t block the road, and don’t block entrances and exits.
And, of course, don’t exceed the 30km/hr speed limit!
