Bus drivers are currently needed for both morning and afternoon routes school bus routes, and interested applicants should attend the classes for prospective bus drivers Oct. 7-9.
The mandatory classes at the Historic Johnson Farm in Hendersonville will begin at 8:15 a.m. each morning and end at approximately 2:30 p.m. each afternoon. Applicants should bring their current driver's licenses and Social Security cards.
After completing the classroom instruction, there are three additional days of behind-the-wheel driving with the instructor. Applicants will be required to pass drug tests before participating in the driving part of the instruction
Bus drivers' salary starts at $11.26 an hour, and the approximate hours for each available bus driver position are posted with the vacancy announcement on the Henderson County Public Schools website. To get there, visit “employment vacancies” on the main page, and click on the “Bus Drivers” link.
